Membership Fees, Categories and other Details - 2011/2012

The following is a listing of membership categories and applicable fees offered within the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron.

Senior Membership:

This membership includes the applicant, spouse (if applicable) and applicant’s children up to the age of 17. All senior categories are permitted full dining, pool, tennis, Keelboat rental program, and mooring/marina privileges. Member holder only is entitled to vote and hold office.

Intermediate Membership:

All applicants between the ages of 18 to 24 years, this membership includes the applicant, spouse (if applicable) and applicant’s children. Intermediate members are permitted full dining, pool, tennis, Keelboat rental program, and mooring/marina privileges. Member holder only is entitled to vote and hold office.

Full Time Student Membership:

All applicants enrolled full time in a post-secondary educational institution.Applicant must be able to provide valid student identification upon application and annual dues renewal. Full Time Student members are permitted full dining, pool, tennis, Keelboat rental program and mooring/marina privileges***.

Junior Membership:

All applicants between the ages of 10 and 17 years. Junior members are permitted full dining, pool, tennis, Keelboat rental program and mooring/marina privileges***.

Service Membership:

All applicants who are active commissioned officers of the Canadian Armed Forces – Regular. This membership includes the applicant, spouse (if applicable) and applicant’s children up to the age of 17. All service categories are permitted full dining, pool, tennis, Keelboat rental program, and mooring/marina privileges.

Corporate Membership:

At the invitation of the Board, active business corporations shall be eligible for Corporate membership. Corporate membership is transferrable should the membership holding representative leave the corporation for any reason. This membership includes the applicant, spouse (if applicable) and applicant’s children up to the age of 17. All Corporate members are permitted full dining, pool, tennis, Keelboat rental program and mooring/marina privileges***.

Outport Nova Scotia Membership:

All applicants whose principal place of business and all residences are beyond a 60 km radius from the Clubhouse. This membership includes the applicant, spouse (if applicable) and applicant’s children up to the age of 17. Outport Nova Scotia members
are permitted full dining, pool, tennis, and Keelboat rental program privileges. This category does not permit rights to seasonal mooring/marinas.

Outport Out of Province Membership:

All applicants whose principal place of business and all residences are located outside of Nova Scotia. This membership includes the applicant, spouse (if applicable) and applicant’s children up to the age of 17. Outport Nova Scotia members are permitted full dining, pool, tennis, and Keelboat rental program privileges. This category does not permit rights to seasonal mooring/marinas.

Privileged Crew Membership:

Any member who is 17 years of age or older who is crew on a member’s yacht shall, upon application to the Board supported by such member, be eligible as a Privileged Crew member. Privileged Crew membership shall only be applicable during the RNSYS sailing season and shall not exceed three sailing seasons for any person. In the event that the applicant becomes a full member, all paid dues will be credited towards the applicable entrance fees. Privileged Crew members are permitted access to the clubhouses, credit privileges, pool and tennis courts, parking on property, and participation within Club Match Racing program. This category does not allow rights to seasonal mooring/marinas, J/22 charters, or the introduction of guests, including spouses.

Some Conditions Apply

• * All figures are subject to HST and reflect fees in effect for the year Nov 1st, 2011 to Oct 31st, 2012. Fees are reviewed annually and may be adjusted accordingly.
