Visit the official site of the Route Halifax Saint-Pierre 2008: www.route-hsp.com.

The Route Halifax Saint Pierre was born of the desire to bring a taste of France to offshore racing on the Atlantic coast. Since 2002 the race has occurred bi-annually, alternating years with the Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race.

Yachts compete in a 353 nautical mile race, starting in Halifax Harbour and finishing at the islands of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon. There fantastic food, warm hospitality and French wines await the finishers. Each boat is assigned a host who will take care of them for the duration of their stay. As the last of the boats crosses the finish line, the festivities of France's fete nationale - Bastille Day - begin.

This is a perfect opportunity to explore "France in North America" while competing in a high-class ocean race. For further information, visit the Route Halifax Saint-Pierre 2008 website.
