2010 Program Guide pdf

The Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron offers members and their children the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of swimming programs. We offer the Red Cross Swim, Life Saving Society levels and other activities to keep you busy during those hot summer days.

General Information

  • Swimming programs are available to members and their immediate family only.
  • Member's children (17 years of age and under) must hold a valid Activity Pass for participation in swimming programs.
  • Classes are 30 minutes in duration and run between 930 and 1230 on weekdays.
  • There are no classes on the Canada Day or Natal Day holidays.
  • Only thunder and lightening will cause further cancellations.
  • There must be a minimum of 3 participants registered for a course to proceed.
  • Specific class times will be set by the Wednesday preceding the beginning of the session.
  • Half-session registrations are subject to full-session registration fees.
  • Registrations received after class times have been set will be charged private class rates.
  • Classes are restricted to 8 participants.

Pool Passes: Access to the pool and pool activities is restricted to members, guests and caretakers. Passes are required for entry in many cases.

Summer Adventure Camp: A day-camp for sailing and swimming offered in late June.

Wet Feet: Introduce your 5 to 8 year old to water safety

Red Cross Swim for Adults: Improve your front crawl!

Red Cross Swim Preschool: Swimming lessons for babies to tots.

Red Cross Swim Kids: Swimming lessons for kids 6 years and older.

Bronze Star: A Bronze Medallion preparation course. 

Bronze Medallion: The first step in becoming a lifeguard.

Bronze Cross: The final step before taking lifeguard certification.

Adult Water Fitness: A water aerobics class for adults.

Pool Party Package #1: A great way to celebrate a birthday.

Pool Party Deluxe Package #2: Add on the extras to make the party even better!

Tender Service: An easy way to get across the Northwest Arm to the Squadron.
