The Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron’s Junior Sailing programs are a dynamic and fun-filled way to spend the summer.  Courses are taught by Canadian Yachting Association certified instructors.  Classes place an emphasis on safety, fun and friendship.  Many of our courses offer CYA certification upon successful completion. 

General Information

  • Classes run each day from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm with a supervised lunch break.
  • Lunch programs are available for purchase.
  • Sailors must provide approved PFD.
  • Membership is not required for sailing program participation.
  • Priority registration is given to RNSYS Senior members until midnight April 1st, 2007

Summer Adventure Camp: A day-camp for sailing and swimming offered in late June.

Wet Feet: Introduce your 5 to 8 year old to sailing, swimming and water safety.

AbleSail for Youth: Our accessible sailing program for 12 to 18 year olds with disabilities.

Introductory Optimist Sailing: For first time sailors ages 8 to 12 years.

Intermediate Optimist Sailing: Sailors ages 10 to 13 with at least one session of Introductory Optimist sailing.

Advanced Optimist Sailing: Sailors 10 to 13 build on existing Optimist skills with focus on boat handling, theory and techniques. 

Introduction to Dinghy Sailing: New sailors aged 13 to 18 years will enjoy this course.

Intermediate 420 Sailing: Sailors ages 13 to 18 will build on previous experience and further their skills in the 420.

Advanced 420 Sailing: Sailors aged 13 to 18 will learn advanced theory and techniques.

Youth Keelboat: Learn to drive the bigger boats in this keelboat course for youth.

Tender Service: As easy was to get across the Northwest Arm each day.

Lunch Program: Don't worry about packing a lunch, we've got it covered with this program!
