Assist with the event check-in process for teams or with boat measurement.

Types of Roles

  • Registration - Check in sailors, chaperones & coaches, ensure their information is correct.

  • Measurement Station Lead - Must be available full days May 18-21; be the leader at one of the measurement stations such as boat weighing or sail measurement

  • Measurement Assistants - help measurers with completing their tasks

Assist with the smooth operations of the event, support teams and special events.

Types of Roles

  • Visiting Team Ambassador - Meet teams when they arrive at the Dalhousie Residence to distribute their team accreditation; be a point of contact for the team with any questions about Halifax & event logistics

  • Food & Event Helpers - support RNSYS staff with distributing lunches and setting up events such as the opening and closing ceremonies

Assist with the operations of the event on the water & help with the races.

Types of Roles

  • Race Committee Assistant - Help record finishes, hold flags and assist race officers in running races.

  • Safety Boat Assistant - Help ensure the safety of the event on water

  • Mark Boat Assistant - Active role hauling and setting anchors for race marks

Assist with getting all sailors on the water & back off the water safely.

Types of Roles

  • Safety Officer - Check sail numbers on boats as they launch and return each day to ensure all sailors are accounted for.

  • Launching Helper - Assist sailors with launching, return Opti dollies to their designated locations

  • Return Helper - Bring dollies for sailors as they return to the shore; assist sailors with washing off their boats at the end of the day
